Stuburt, the world’s fastest-growing golf shoe and apparel company, is celebrating their first win of the 2010 season thanks to rising star Charlie Ford.
The 25 year-old Englishman secured his maiden professional title on only his second Challenge Tour appearance at the inaugural Turkish Airlines Challenge presented by Carya Golf Club, last week in Antalya, Turkey.
The former Men’s Amateur International beat Swede Oscar Floren with a birdie three at the first extra play-off hole to take the €28,000 first prize, after both players finished tied on 11 under par after 72 holes.
The win moves Ford, playing in only his fifth tournament since turning professional before the 2009 Final stage of Qualifying School, to second in the Challenge Tour Rankings.
Ford, latest recruit to Team Stuburt, joins the likes of European Tour rising star Gareth Maybin, Ryder Cup player Graeme McDowell, PGA Tour player Garth Mulroy and brand ambassador Darren Clarke by wearing Stuburt on tour.
With sales up year-on-year, a well-received launch into the apparel arena and now its first tour victory of the season, it’s been a fantastic start to 2010 for Stuburt both on and off the course.
