Golf Factor’s success prompts nationwide coverage

Following a series of successful inaugural events in 2009, Golf Factor is back for 2010 – except this time it’s bigger and better with plans to roll-out the competition throughout the UK.

With over 140 junior golfers from across Yorkshire between the ages of 8 and 16 setting out at stage one, the competition was whittled down over three stages to a grand final with 13-year old Bradley Hudson running out as the 2009 Golf Factor winner.

The brainchild of Class AA PGA Professional John Andrew, Golf Factor is a junior golf talent competition with the goal of identifying golf talent in UK and assisting them to maximise their full potential within the sport.

With a host of amazing support up for grabs for the three eventual winners, including elite equipment from Nike Golf, coaching from the expert staff at the John Letters Golf Academy and personal development at the highest level from the likes of renowned sports psychologist Karl Morris, this event is once again sure to attract interest from far and wide.

2010 also sees individual competitions take place not only at the Stadium Driving Range in Yorkshire but also through Golf Factor 2’s expanded competitions in East Anglia at Cambridgeshire Golf and Conferencing Centre and on Merseyside at Morton Hills Golf Centre.

The free-to-enter competition, is open to all junior golfers aged 8-16 irrespective of their level of playing experience: beginner, improver or advanced player.

The first stage of the Yorkshire event takes place the weekend of the 1st and 2nd May at the Stadium Driving Range, Huddersfield with the deadline for entries being the 31st March 2010.

With the high standards of sportsmanship that exist within golf, including courtesy, manners and fair play, it stands out from most other sports by setting a great example to young people. With over 4 million golfers in the UK, golf is now widely recognised as one of the most popular sports in the country and Golf Factor aims to introduce as many young people to the sport as possible.

So is your child the next Lee Westwood or Annika Sorenstam? Book onto the Golf Factor 2 and find out.
